Happy Father's Day (Red)
Speaking of how deep is the ocean, this is nothing to look at, but Etta James tore the song up. No one else need ever bother cover it again. (Sorry, Diana.)
For something to see, check out Chick Corea at the Montreal Jazz Festival in 2004:

If you came at night like a broken king, If you came by day not knowing what you came for, It would be the same (Blue)
From T.S. Eliot -- "Little Gidding" (the last of his Four Quartets):
We shall not cease from exploration
And the end of all our exploring
Will be to arrive where we started
And know the place for the first time.
And what you thought you came for
Is only a shell, a husk of meaning
From which the purpose breaks only when it is fulfilled
If at all.
This is the use of memory:
For liberation—not less of love but expanding
Of love beyond desire, and so liberation
From the future as well as the past.

Events vs Objects and Mapping Knowledge (Red)
One of the most interesting things about this talk is the reframing of what study is. So instead of studying objects, we are mapping our attitudes to what we know of events:

Vaccination (White)
[link]
This study (from my online class in infectious disease epidemiology) compared computer models of strategies for reducing pertussis cases and deaths. I'm thinking Angelina & I should both get boosters this summer. The CDC's guide on the subject isn't the easiest thing to read, but it seems to support the idea.
I'm such a sap, the Lopez video made me tear up.

Heart & Water, Red & Blue
Also, I just want to say that I feel that The Media are doing a very negative thing by splashing the racist ravings of a murderous bigot across the news sites. I don't want to look at that $^!t when I'm trying to scan the news. The guy tried to shoot up the holocaust museum for racist reasons, I get it. Repeating the ignorant crap he wrote and told people just perpetuates negativity and gives attention to a point of view that actual citizens abhor. Journalists have a civic responsibility to do better.

Medical Future (Blue & Yellow)
I'm going to call this blue, for adaptability, and yellow, for resources and resourcefulness:

Healing (White again)
So many Buddhist themes to riff on, so little time...
[I thought this would be good for thinking about before the Amitayus Drupcho coming up Thursday.]
